 HOW TO MAKE SPECIAL RED TEA



India is the second largest producer of tea in the world including the famous Assam Tea and Darjeeling Tea. According to the ASSOCHAM report released in December 2011, India is the world's largest consumer of tea.

Traditional Indian kitchens have long utilised the medicinal benefits offered by various plants and spices such as Basil (Tulsi),Cardamom (Elaichi), Pepper (Kali Mirch), Liquorice (Mulethi), Mint (Pudina) etc.

Most of the Indian family have the habit of starting their day with a cup of tea. Whether it is milk tea or red tea. Milk tea causes acidity to many people like me. So they do not take milk tea.

Therefore, Today we will learn about Red Tea. Once you take it in the morning, then you spend your day with full of energy. Specially, this Tea has  a medicinal value, so you take it in winter that it prevents you from cold, cough etc. You can add a little honey (in place of sugar) and some Tulsi leaves for common cold and cough.

My mother-in-law always advice me to give this type of tea to my children when they are suffering from cold and cough.

So let us learn, how to make special red tea -



INGREDIENTS -
  • Water                        - 3 cups
  • Black Salt                 - 1/2 tsp
  • Cardamom               - 2(crushed)
  • Chat Masala            - 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice            - 1/2 tbsp
  • Tej Patta (Bay Leaf)- 2
  • Black Pepper           - 1/2 tbsp (crushed)
  • Sugar                       - 2 tsp(as per taste)
  • Basil                         - 6-7 leaves (optional)
  • Tea Leaves               - 1 tsp
  • Ginger                      - 1 1/2 inch (crushed) 
Procedure- 

First we heat three cups of water in a saucepan. When it starts to boil we add Bay leaves, black pepper , cardamom and ginger. Allow it to boil for 2 mins. Add black salt, sugar and boil for 2 mins. Add chat masala and tea leaves and again boil for 2-3 mins. Switch off the flame and add 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice and your red tea is ready.






Serve it with any snacks of your choice.

NOTE - To Avoid Cold And Cough When You Make It, Avoid Cardamom And Chat Masala. In Place Of Cardamom, You Add 2-3 Cloves. And You Should Also add Black Pepper, Honey And Basil.
